Duke of Flatbush by Bill Purdom
Duke of Flatbush
It's September 22, 1957, at Ebbets Field, and the Dodgers 31-tear-old Duke Snider has just connected for his last home run at the beloved Brooklyn ballpark. Of equal significance, the blast is Snider's 40th of the season, allowing him to tie Ralph Kiner's National League record of 40 or more HRs in five consecutive seasons( Babe Ruth holds the record with seven ).

Boys of Summer by Andy Jurinko
Boys of Summer
It's September 30, 1955, Game 3 of the World Series, the Yankees vs. the Dodgers at Ebbets Field. And that's Sandy Amoros scoring from third after Pee Wee Reese's bases-loaded, second-inning walk off Yankee reliever Tom Morgan. The view from the press box sweeps from the seats down the left field line to beyond the scoreboard in right. That's Jim Gilliam en route to second, Johnny Podres headed to third, Duke Snider stepping to the plate and batboy Charlie "The Brow" DiGiavonni hustling back to the dugout. Catcher Yogi Berra, first baseman Moose Skowron, second baseman Billy Martin, shortstop Phil Rizzuto, third baseman Gil McDougald and outfielders Bob Cerv, Mickey Mantle and Elston Howard are in the field for the Yanks. Johnny Kucks is warming up down the left field line. The colorful outfield billboards are easily readable, as are the lineups and linescore on the scoreboard.

Aiming for Bedford by Andy Jurinko
Aiming for Bedford
The summer of 1955 in Brooklyn, and the Dodgers are in the midst of what will be their most glorious season in New York. They'll win 98 games and finally capture their first World Championship after seven World Series setbacks! That's Edwin Donald Snider at bat for Brooklyn, in a game against the Pirates. Before it's over, he'll hit .309 with 42 homers, a league-leading 126 runs scored. His favorite target, of course, is the inviting screen in right field fronting Bedford Avenue. From the upper deck seat on the third base side, the Schaefer scoreboard and the colorful right field billboards are in full view.
