The Houston Colt 45's somehow pieced together a decent pitching staff out of the culls thrown their way by the rest of the league and started a three year stint in 1962 braving the heat, humudity and mosquitoes until their all-weather stadium, the Astrodome, was completed. They now could change their name to the Houston Astros. Over time, the Astrodome met its challenges to compete with the other club parks and the last game for the Astros in the Astrodome was 1999 as their new ballpark was ready for 2000.
